She loves drawing women and had once made a portrait of her favourite female pianist Martha Argerich and gave it to her at the Verbier Music Festival. Her most favourite artists include Alfonso Mucha and Gustav Klimt. Her piano duo work “Nocturne” was inspired by Mucha’s Nocturnal Slumber. She also adores works by Maurits Cornelis Escher and Salvador Dali that open her up with their extraordinary intelligence and unlimited imaginations.
Having experienced that visual artworks can inspire music making and vice versa, Julie collaborated with her artist friend, Lon Lee, who has created visual illustrations for each of the 10 pieces in Julie’s piano album for the young, “The Fantasy of Little C”.
